A S cliche as this sounds, I found my inspiration for this business while backpacking through Europe.
I was seventeen, and I was hiking a 100- mile trail called the South Downs Way. I immediately fell in love with the English Countryside; the serene pastures with grazing sheep, cobblestone villages, and budding roses. Along my journey, I had one of my most challenging hiking days along the Seven Sisters, a series of chalk sea cliffs along the English Channel. It was a bitterly cold and wet afternoon with a lot of rocky terrain. To restore my spirits, I stumbled into a tea room, and discovered the charming ritual of afternoon tea. Steaming tea pots filled with decadent black teas, fresh scones topped with jam and Devonshire cream, and a lovely buzz of chatter and laughter throughout the tea house. I knew I needed to bring this feeling of comfort, joy, and serenity back to the states.
R O S E S along Tyne is named after the gorgeous roses I saw beside the River Tyne, while on my third return hike to England.
A L L of my small-batch tea blends are made with certified organic or all-natural botanicals. My tea packaging is eco-friendly, and GMO free. A portion of my profits go towards a pollinator garden for solitary honey bees in northern Virginia.
With love XX,
